Olympic Casino’s charity party in support of a large family with 8 children

At the end of last week there was a charity party in the Tartu Olympic Casino in support of the Järve family with 8 children. The check presented at the end of the party for 28,663 EEK will be used to finance the last year of university studies for the eldest son.
In addition to the funds for schooling the large family was also given necessary home appliances and sports gear. The producer of electronic appliances Samsung gave a washing machine of the Ecosilver-series, the newest model with the retail price tag of nearly 11,000 EEK, to Hansel – the head of the family and single parent raising 8 children. The washing machine model features the unique Silver Nano technology, meaning that the silver ions active in the process destroy 99% of bacteria present on textiles and will inhibit the growth of new bacteria for 30 days after washing the laundry.

Sports gear and free passes to sports facilities were presented by Aura Centre, sports club Tropic and Sportland chain of stores. The 28,663 EEK in support of the last year student Martin’s politology studies at Tartu University were collected via the Olympic Casino’s charity jackpot and the wheel of fortune rolling at the site during the event.

According to Marje Braunbrück, the marketing manager of Olympic Casino, the party for helping the large family fitted like a glove the idea of Tartu as the city of good thoughts. “This is in all respects a great and active family, the man raising eight school-aged children on his own deserves support and acknowledgement,” says Braunbrück. “I would particularly wish to thank all our co-supporters who were eager to join the effort and also Maire Aunaste and Marju Kuut for their brilliant performances,” she added.

The head of the family Hansel was delighted with all the unexpected assistance and seemed to enjoy the evening truly. “I would never have asked for help of my own accord, after all these children are all of my own making,” he remarked jokingly in answer to the question about his earlier contacts with charities.

A great impetus to the realisation of the charity party was given by Maire Aunaste who reviewed the activities of the Järve family in a story featured in her popular talk-show “Us” last season. Maire Aunaste was also acting as the master of ceremonies during the party last Friday. In addition to her brilliant work in leading the evening the large audience was musically entertained by the evergreen Marju Kuut, presenting a selection of her best songs from the last three decades.
