There was a charity party at Reval Park Hotel&Casino on the 5th of September, where Olympic Casino handed a charity cheque of 32,192 kroons over to Andres Tsahkna, the assistant mayor of Tallinn, for the support of Tallinn Centre for Children at Risk.
“The main part of the support sum – 29,976 kroons – has been raised with the charity jackpot started in the framework of the project “A good act in every stake” of the Olympic Casino, whereto money is collected from ever stake made on the slot-machine of the Olympic Casino” said Marje Braunbrück, Head of Marketing and Sales of Olympic Casino. “In addition to the charity jackpot, all the visitors of our charity party, who bought the tickets of the charity lottery organised at the party, could make their contributions for the support of Tallinn Centre for Children at Risk.” According to Braunbrück, more than 2,200 kroons was raised in addition, from the sales of the 10-kroon tickets.

According to Erki Korp, Manager of the Tallinn Centre for Children at Risk, the amount of the support sum was much bigger than had been expected. “Now we can, in addition to buying the planned sports equipment to the Tallinn Centre for Children at Risk, buy also modern furniture to the psychology cabinet of the Lilleküla centre,” said Korp delightedly.

Tallinn Centre for Children at Risk is the oldest shelter of the town, which was established in 1993 and, which includes two children’s shelters, one for the children without parental care and the other one for children with addiction problems. This time the support was meant for the benefit of the children with addiction problems at the centre at 99, Nõmme tee. “Children with addiction problems spend a long time in the shelter: from half a year up to a year, therefore, it is important to pay attention not only to rehabilitation, but also to studying and spending spare time,” said Korp.

Anders Tsahkna, assistant mayor of the city, considers the self-initiative charity project of the Olympic Casino to be an example also for other undertakings: “ It is pleasant to see that Olympic Casino has volunteered to support persons in need of help from its own finances, in addition to the obligatory gambling tax.” “ The real success of an undertaking is expressed in the fact, when the profit gained with one’s work is shared also with others, “ added Tsahkna.

The source of the inspiration of the charity party “Taka- taka autumn party” was the band Kuldsed Lindid, who represented brilliantly the cream of pop hits, by presenting at the same time their new album “Whispering in the sun and wind”. The band “Kuldsed Lindid 2”, consisting of Raivo E. Tamm, Emil Rutiku, Dan Põldroos and Tiit Sukk, performed as a surprise visitor.

The charity jackpot is a part of the project “A good act in every stake” started by Olympic Casino at the beginning of the tenth year of the operation of the company. Young Estonian ski athletes, Pelgulinna maternity hospital and the project against narcotics “ Children’s Health – Say No to Narcotics” have been supported during last months. One of the biggest recipients of support is the Estonian Academy of Music, whom Olympic Casino has supported with 120,000 kroons.
