Olympic Casino opened its first rebranded casino in Romania

According to the transactions made in the spring, the Romanian subsidiary of Olympic Entertainment Group (OEG) acquired three gaming locations as a result of taking over the country’s leading casino operator. In addition to the newly opened and thoroughly refurbished casino the company plans to open another acquired gaming location under the Olympic Casino brand name by the end of this year. “We also own Napoleon, one of the most luxurious casinos in Bucharest, located in the Sofitel Hotel in the World Trade Centre,” said Andri Avila, member of the Management Board of OEG. “This casino will also be rebranded as an Olympic Casino in the future.”
The first Olympic Casino in Romania that opened doors this weekend is located in the centre of Bucharest and is named Olympic Casino Hawaii. The casino has been thoroughly rebuilt to comply with the high standards of Olympic Casino. The gaming location with 285 square metres of floor space is equipped with 41 latest slot machines, including such modern additional winning systems as Cash Fever and Fort Knox. In addition, there is an electronic roulette and a spacious bar area in the casino.
Olympic Casino Bucharest SRL, the Romanian subsidiary of OEG, signed the contract for the acquisition of the local casino operator Empire International Game World on April 12, 2007. The acquisition price was 3.85 million euros.
Romania has 22 million people of whom more than 2 million live in the country’s capital Bucharest. Today Olympic Casino employs around 130 people in Romania.
Olympic Casino is the region’s largest provider of casino entertainment and employs around 3,800 people. OEG is the full member of the European Casino Association (ECA). Today the company operates casinos in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Romania and Poland, and has set up a company also in Slovakia. Shares of Olympic Entertainment Group are traded in the main lists of the Tallinn Stock Exchange and on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
