Olympic Casino has collected about 30 000 kroons to support children without parental care
Posted on 05.02.2004In December, Olympic Casino launched a multi-stage charity project to support children deprived of parental care. Today, the project has already collected about 30 000 kroons. Much of the support sum, 19 228 kroons, was collected by the unique electronic Christmas card campaign.
Before Christmas, Olympic Casino sent its clients and cooperation partners electronic Christmas cards that included a link to a virtual skiing game “Charity On Snow”. Olympic Casino makes a donation according to the maximum point sums achieved by the players. This should be the first internet-based charity game in Estonia. The game itself is located at http://www.olympic-casino.net/xmas.
According to Olympic Casino's marketing director Marje Braunbrück, the charity skiing game has so far been played more than 49 000 times and the point record is 1 455 300 cents. “Thus, our donation is 14 553 kroons,” said Braunbrück. She adds that an SMS campaign launched within the framework of the same Christmas project added a further 4675 kroons to the charity sum. “Therefore we gathered 19 228 kroons during Christmas,” she says.
The charity project was launched in cooperation with Lions Club Diana actually already during the first days of December. Olympic Casino distributed calendar-cash boxes for 2004 to all who wanted to help. “The distributed cash boxes will be sent to us at the end of 2004 and on December 4, 2004, we will open them to formally count the amassed sums,” noted Braunbrück.
With the more than 9000 kroons gathered by the Olympic Casino charity jackpot organized at the pilot event of the calendar distribution, the whole Olympic Casino donation sum is close to 30 000 kroons. The sum will be donated to children living under the protégé of grandparents to enable them to participate in various hobby groups or to support the purchase of clothes and footwear.
