Olympic Casino Group became an Estonian Olympic Committee sponsor

Estonian Olympic Committee (EOC) signed a contract today with Olympic Casino Group that makes the leading casino company in the Baltics sponsor of Estonian Olympic movement.
EOC president Mart Siimann said: “Both the Olympic movement and Estonian sports in general will benefit from the addition of a new sponsor. The resources received from the sponsors will be used to realize the EOC priorities set at the Estonian Sports Congress - to make sports more athlete-centered, spirit-centered and sports development more balanced. I value highly the sense of mission and high management culture exhibited by Olympic Casino management.”

According to Armin Karu, chairman of Olympic Casino Group board, Olympic Casino has been an official partner and supporter of EOC for several years now. “The decision to further increase our support to Estonian sports and Olympic movement is a sign of our satisfaction with the cooperation so far and EOC's contribution to Estonian sports development,” noted Karu. He explained that Olympic Casino adhered to the principle that, in addition to the resources given to the state treasury through the gaming tax, the company wishes to further support the aspects of life upholding the values of Estonian people, such as culture, education and sports.

Every week, Olympic Casino entertainment locations hold charity events within the “A Good Deed in Every Bet” program. For example, a charity party held on February 14 this year at Reval Park Hotel&Casino collected 30 838 kroons to support the Estonian disabled athletes, the money shall be used for the preparations of the 2004 Athens Special Olympics.

Olympic Casino Group started in 1993 and is currently the largest gaming operator in the Baltics. Today, the chain already includes fourteen casinos in Estonia, four in Lithuania and one in Latvia. Olympic Casino Group AS provides work for over 400 people in Estonia.

Estonian Olympic Committee's activities are largely funded through corporate sponsor donations. EOC's sponsors include the BLRT Group, Estonian Telecom, Elion, EMT, If Estonian Insurance, Kalev, AS Kommest Auto representing Peugeot in Estonia, Saku Brewery, Sampo Bank, Tallegg and the Port of Tallinn.
