Olympic Casino donated over 32 000 EEK for anti-narcotics fight
Posted on 11.07.2003On 4 July, at charity party held in Reval Park Hotel&Casino for celebrating the Independence Day of the United States, Olympic Casino handed over a 32 264 EEK cheque to support the charity project “Children’s Health – Say No To Narcotics”.
29 754 EEK, the basic share of the sum was collected through charitable jackpot, started during Olympic Casino’s project “Benefaction In Every Bet” which raises money from every bet made on Olympic Casino’s slot machines. “In addition to charitable jackpot, all visitors of the venture could make their contribution for anti-narcotics fight by buying charity lottery tickets,” said Olympic Casino marketing manager Marje Braunbrück. Sold lottery tickets added 2530 EEK to jackpot.
“Children’s Health – Say No To Narcotics” is a big project organized already for the third year by football club FC Levadia and it is supported by more than 40 companies. The project aims at promoting sports and healthy life style among children and the young and making the society aware of the danger of narcotics. Viktor Levada, the president of FC Levadia, received the sum donated by Olympic Casino at the event on 4 July.
The programme celebrating the Independence Day of the United States was fashioned in American style with the thematic buffet menu in the restaurant and casino employees and visitors costumed in Hollywood style. After the midnight, exclusive helicopter flight above the city of Tallinn was played off between people at the party. Entertaining programme was trusted into the hands of LaMent and The Rockin’ Guys with the leading man of the evening Emil Rutiku dressed up as Elvis.
Charitable jackpot is only one element in the larger project Benefaction In Every Bet that was started by Olympic Casino in the beginning of the tenth business year of the company. On previous months Olympic Casino has supported young Estonian skiers and Pelgulinna Maternity Hospital. Recently, in May, a 120 000 EEK cheque was presented to Estonian Music Academy.
