Estonian team in international Blackjack Tournament final
Posted on 29.10.2004On October 30, the Grand Casino in Helsinki, Finland, will hold the final of the international Blackjack tournament for the Baltic Sea countries called The Baltic Sea Blackjack Tournament. The best Blackjack players from six countries will meet in the final.
“The Estonian team is made up of the top seven local Blackjack players who were selected as a result of the Estonian Championships that ended on October 16,” said Olympic Casino's marketing director Marje Braunbrück. “Our players will try to defend their last year's title against the teams from Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden and Poland,” added Braunbrück.
The winner of the international tournament's individual first place will get the prize money of 20 000 euros or close to 313 000 kroons transferred to his or her bank account, the winning team gets 10 500 euros or close to 165 000 kroons. The Estonian team has so far won The Baltic Sea Blackjack Tournament twice: last year in Riga and in 2001 at the finals held in Warsaw.
In individual standings, Warsaw also saw the first two places go to Estonia.
On October 16, Olympic Casino hosted the Estonian finals of The Baltic Sea Blackjack Tournament for the Baltic Sea countries at the Reval Park Hotel&Casino in Tallinn. The tournament's eventual winner Anti won 50 000 kroons of prize money, the second and third placed competitors, Aare and Arvi, won 20 000 and 10 000 kroons, respectively. A total of close to 200 competitors took part of the preliminaries all over Estonia.
